NMC Supports Voices Against Violence With Donation
Northwestern Medical Center presented a $1,000 donation to Voices Against Violence last Friday, helping to celebrate the organization’s effort to open a second shelter for survivors of domestic violence. Chief Operating Officer Jonathan Billings attended an open house at the new space and presented the funds to Program Director Shannon McMahon and Paul Dragon of the Champlain Valley Office of Economic Opportunity.
Voices Against Violence is a program of CVOEO. The program serves Franklin and Grand Isle counties and champions survivor empowerment and community education, as well as working to eliminate sexual and domestic violence and stalking.
Its existing emergency shelter, Laurie’s House, is also in St. Albans. Voices offers immediate support to callers via a 24-hour crisis line at 802-524-6575 as well as through a private, end-to-end encrypted chat line monitored from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on weekdays.
